Another Lighting Test (and a Cool Bowtie)

Self Portrait (I), Adjusted

I found this cool bowtie on an online auction site — you know the one — and it was just the excuse I needed for another lighting test. The gallery shows the 3 JPEGs, exported straight from the RAW files* with no adjustments, each followed by a JPEG exported after basic tonal adjustments (overall exposure, shadows and highlights, black and whites).

Note

M-mount lenses do not provide aperture information to the camera body, either electronically or mechanically. Therefore, f-stop settings are approximate, and are probably wildly inaccurate. For what it’s worth, I usually shoot with my lenses wide open.
